The project is set to significantly enhance the operational capacity of approximately 200 small-scale oil palm processors, focusing on the modernization and upgrading of their milling sites. This will be achieved through the introduction of energy-efficient oil extractor machines that are designed to maximize oil yield while minimizing energy consumption.

These advanced machines will not only improve the efficiency of oil extraction but will also contribute to a reduction in the overall environmental footprint of the processing activities. In addition to the oil extractors, the project will provide energy-efficient stoves that are essential for the production process. These stoves will ensure that the production of palm oil is conducted in a manner that is not only efficient but also hygienic, thereby adhering to health and safety standards that are crucial for both producers and consumers.
Moreover, OLIVES, the organization spearheading this initiative, will play a pivotal role in facilitating the formation and formalization of a processors’ association in Akim Subi. This association will serve as a platform for small-scale processors to collaborate, share best practices, and advocate for their interests. By coming together as a formalized group, these processors will be able to access resources, training, and support that will further enhance their capabilities and competitiveness in the market. The establishment of such an association is crucial, as it will not only empower individual processors but also strengthen the overall oil palm processing sector in the region. Through these combined efforts, the project aims to create a sustainable and thriving ecosystem for small-scale oil palm processors, ultimately contributing to their economic growth and the well-being of the local community.
